NSCA Certification Commission Wins International Award for Web Site
(Lincoln, Neb., February 15, 2001) -- The NSCA Certification Commission (the Certifying Body of the National Strength and Conditioning Association) was awarded the prestigious LERN (Learning Resources Network) International Award for best Internet Home Page at the LERN Annual Convention in Chicago on December 6, 2000. LERN, an international association in lifelong learning, chose the NSCA Certification Commission's Web site (www.nsca-cc.org) for its attractive and interactive Home Page, which includes online quizzes, a monthly drawing and a featured continuing education section. Along with the aesthetically pleasing design, the site was also noted for its simple and effective navigational system and its small, quick-loading graphics.
Judges indicated there was a very high level of excellence in this year's field of entries. Julie Coates, LERN's Vice President of Information Services, said this year's award nominees were among the highest quality ever submitted. The judges applied the following criteria in making their choices: originality, innovation, appropriateness as a model for other programs, replicability and measurability. The awards selection process is very competitive, Coates said, and it is truly an honor to be selected. Within the best Internet Home Page category, the NSCA Certification Commission's nomination was selected from a field of more than 100 nominations from four countries.
The NSCA Certification Commission's credentials, the CSCS® (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist®) and the NSCA-CPTsm (NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer®) are the only nationally accredited fitness-related credentials. The NSCA Certification Commission's Web site provides a wealth of information about the CSCS and NSCA-CPT certification exams and credentials, including registration requirements and fees, examination content, Continuing Education opportunities, helpful downloadable documents, practice exam questions and helpful study hints.
