NSCA Certification Commission Recognizes 2005 Award Winners
Lincoln, Nebraska - July 8, 2005. The NSCA Certification Commission honored the 2005 recipients of its distinguished Silver and Bronze Awards at the Certification Reception on July 7 in conjunction with the NSCA National Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. These awards were established to honor Exams on Request hosts for their efforts in promoting the NSCA, the NSCA Certification Commission, the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) and NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer® (NSCA-CPT®) credentials.
For the third year, the NSCA Certification Commission honored individuals who have hosted at least ten examinations with the Silver Award. The Silver Award recipients were: Dave Kato, CSCS (Edmonton, Alberta) and Christine Vega, CSCS,*D; NSCA-CPT,*D (San Juan, Puerto Rico).
The Bronze Award is given to individuals who have hosted at least three examinations. The Exams on Request program was established in 1993 for individuals wishing to have the CSCS or NSCA-CPT exams administered at a location close to them. The NSCA Certification Commission and its examination service make the specific site arrangements and conduct the exam. The NSCA Certification Commission also assists in promoting the exam through its Web site, mailings and Fax on Demand service.

The NSCA Certification Commission, which is the certifying agency for the National Strength and Conditioning Association, offers two credentials for fitness professionals. The Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) certifications are considered the Credentials of Distinction in the strength training and conditioning and personal training professions. The NSCA Certification Commission is the only fitness-related organization to offer credentials nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) since 1993.
