The NSCA Certification Commission to Release Interactive Multimedia Exam Preparation Materials
Lincoln, Nebraska - December 15, 2005. Beginning in early 2006, candidates for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) and NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer® (NSCA-CPT®) exams will have the opportunity to prepare from their computer using the new Multimedia Symposium CDs. These interactive CDs will provide candidates with access to presentations covering the major content areas of the CSCS and NSCA-CPT exams. Individuals who purchase the multimedia symposia will receive a variety of media types all in one package. The video presentation will play in conjunction with a self-advancing PowerPoint® presentation to create a classroom-type environment.
The Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning Multimedia Symposium CDs and the Essentials of Personal Training Multimedia Symposium CDs will provide strength and conditioning and personal training professionals an opportunity to listen and follow along as internationally-recognized industry leaders lecture on the facts, concepts and theories relevant to the CSCS and NSCA-CPT exams.
Along with a slide presentation and interactive video that reflects what a person experiences at a live symposium, each multimedia CD includes a printable presentation outline accompanied by tables, figures and photos. Following each presentation, candidates can assess their retention of the information through an interactive set of self-assessment questions written in the same style as actual CSCS or NSCA-CPT exam questions.
The NSCA Certification Commission developed the new preparation materials to provide strength and conditioning and personal training professionals with a convenient method of learning and reviewing up-to-date and relevant information as they prepare for the CSCS or NSCA-CPT exams. The multimedia symposium CDs are meant to be used as an additional resource to existing preparation materials available from the NSCA Certification Commission.

The NSCA Certification Commission, the certifying agency for the National Strength and Conditioning Association, offers two credentials for fitness professionals. The Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) certifications are considered the Credentials of Distinction in the strength training and conditioning and personal training professions. The NSCA Certification Commission is the only fitness-related organization to offer credentials nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) since 1993.
