NSCA Certification Commission Offering Discount to ERP Schools
Lincoln, Nebraska - January 10, 2006. The NSCA Certification Commission is offering students enrolled in schools that are recognized by the NSCA's Education Recognition Program (ERP) a $50 discount off the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) and/or NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer® (NSCA-CPT®) exam registration fees. This discount provides students with an opportunity to enhance their career choices and motivates them to earn the Credentials of Distinction.
Students enrolled at ERP schools can receive the discount by obtaining their school's special ERP Discount Code from the ERP Program Director at their school. A list of schools participating in the ERP can be found at www.nsca-lift.org/ERP/schools.shtml. Once the students have obtained the code, they can register for the exam of their choice at www.nsca-cc.org.
The NSCA's ERP consists of three separate recognition programs: the ERP Personal Training Program, the ERP Strength and Conditioning Program and the ERP Graduate Studies Program. An academic institution's acceptance into the NSCA's ERP signifies the institution has met the NSCA's educational guidelines. To qualify, colleges and universities must offer a degree related to strength training and conditioning or personal training. The ERP has recognized 58 schools in the U.S.
The ERP Personal Training Program recognizes the colleges and universities that offer two- and four-year educational programs in personal training. The ERP Strength and Conditioning Program recognizes the colleges and universities that offer at least a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in strength training and conditioning. The ERP Graduate Studies Program recognizes the colleges and universities that offer at least a master's degree related to strength training and conditioning or sport performance.
In addition to the $50 discount for students, ERP recognized schools receive an annual listing in the Strength and Conditioning Journal, a searchable listing and link to the institution's program on the NSCA's Web site and the ability to highlight the institution's ERP recognition in marketing and collateral materials.

The NSCA Certification Commission, the certifying agency for the National Strength and Conditioning Association, offers two credentials for fitness professionals. The Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) certifications are considered the Credentials of Distinction in the strength training and conditioning and personal training professions. The NSCA Certification Commission is the only fitness-related organization to offer credentials nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) since 1993.
