Become an NSCA Certification Commission Approved CEU Provider

Lincoln, Nebraska - June 7, 2006. It has never been easier for continuing education providers to obtain recognition among health and fitness professionals for their continuing education programs. The NSCA Certification Commission's CEU Provider Program gives providers a unique opportunity to gain instant credibility among the most qualified and competent certified health and fitness professionals in the industry. The CEU Provider Program goes a step above and beyond most other organization's provider programs. In addition to meeting their own high standards, the content of a CEU provider's event/activity must also meet the NSCA Certification Commission's continuing education standards.

The prestige and credibility that the CEU Provider Program grants a continuing education event is only the beginning. Providers who choose to participate in the program receive unparalleled marketing and promotional assistance from the NSCA Certification Commission. The providers of a CEU-approved event/activity receive several important benefits that will contribute significantly to the success of the event/activity.

These benefits include:

  • Access to a market of more than 25,000 CSCS and NSCA-CPT credential holders seeking CEU-approved events/activities during each three-year period. The NSCA Certification Commission CEU designation helps providers tap into a large, existing, receptive market that is pre-sold on participating in continuing education activities.

  • The NSCA Certification Commission assists with the promotion of the approved event/activity through free Web exposure, publicity to NSCA certified individuals, publicity to NSCA members, access to targeted mailing lists and use of the CEU Provider Logo.

  • The NSCA Certification Commission will include the activity in the listing of all approved CEU activities that appears in the CEU Activity Calendar on the NSCA Certification Commission's Web site at www.nsca-cc.org.

  • The CEU event is included in the Certification Connection, a monthly online newsletter that is sent via e-mail to certified individuals and posted on the NSCA Certification Commission's Web site. Each Certification Connection includes a listing of the approved events for two months and links to the complete calendar of events, repeat events and home study courses.
The CEU Provider Program is successful because the NSCA Certification Commission encourages its certified individuals to stay abreast of evolving knowledge and skills in the profession and, in doing so, to promote the ongoing competency of those certified. The NSCA Certification Commission bases its CEUs on the number of contact hours (or actual clock hours) undertaken to complete an activity or event (breaks, lunch breaks, social times, registration, etc. are not included in contact hours) and the content that is covered during that time. Typically one contact hour equals 0.1 CEU, thus 10 contact hours equals 1.0 CEU.

For more information on how to become a CEU Provider or the CEU Activity Calendar, call 888-746-2378, ext. 122, or e-mail provider@nsca-cc.org.
