NSCA Certification Commission Partners with the Jewish Community Center of St. Louis and the Professional Fitness Trainer Association
Lincoln, Nebraska - March 15. 2007. The NSCA Certification Commission has developed alliances with the Jewish Community Center of St. Louis (JCC) and the Professional Fitness Trainer Association (PFTA) to provide a discount on the NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer® (NSCA-CPT®) exam to JCC personal trainers and PFTA students. This will allow all JCC staff and PFTA students to register for the NSCA-CPT certification exam at a discounted rate and receive discounts on exam preparation materials.
The agreements, commenced in February 2007, allow JCC and PFTA to host exams, which gives JCC personal trainers and PFTA students the convenience of a local exam site. Because the NSCA-CPT credential is the most respected and preferred certification in the fitness industry, the NSCA Certification Commission, the JCC and the PFTA see these alliances as opportunities to demonstrate their competence and expertise.
The NSCA-CPT credential is for personal trainers who work with both active and sedentary clients in one-on-one situations. NSCA-CPT credential holders work in a variety of settings including health and fitness clubs, schools and clients' homes. Today, more than 9,600 fitness professionals hold the NSCA-CPT credential. The NSCA-CPT was the first personal training certification to earn accreditation by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) in 1996.
The Jewish Community Center of St. Louis is an interactive multigenerational gathering place, which imparts Jewish values, promotes individual physical and spiritual growth, creates a caring responsible community and supports those in need. PFTA is the only personal training career school approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission Career Schools Division. The alliances between the NSCA Certification Commission, the JCC and PFTA enhance the JCC and PFTA's commitment to their employees and students.

The NSCA Certification Commission, the certifying agency for the National Strength and Conditioning Association, offers two credentials for fitness professionals.
