NSCA Certification Commission Reaches an Agreement with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association
Lincoln, Nebraska — January 10, 2008. The NSCA Certification Commission has developed an alliance with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) to provide a discount on the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) exam to NATA members. This agreement allows all NATA members to register for the CSCS certification exam at a discounted rate and receive discounts on selected exam preparation materials.
The agreement, commenced in December 2007, allows NATA members to demonstrate their leadership and competence in strength training and conditioning with the CSCS certification. Because the CSCS credential is the most respected and preferred strength and conditioning certification, the NSCA Certification Commission and the NATA see this alliance as an opportunity for NATA members to enhance their level of commitment to the athletic training profession and their careers.
The CSCS certification is a highly specialized credential that identifies those who have demonstrated the ability to design safe and effective strength training and conditioning programs for athletes. Today, more than 24,000 professionals from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds hold this renowned credential. The CSCS is the only strength training and conditioning certification to be nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and has been nationally accredited since 1993.
The NATA is the professional membership association for certified athletic trainers and others who support the athletic training profession. Founded in 1950, the NATA has grown to almost 30,000 members worldwide today.
