  • Earning a concentration of CEUs in NSCA and NSCA Certification activities

The following information is described in detail below:

Benefits of the Program
The Recertified with Distinction program benefits those individuals who qualify by enhancing their professional stature and by providing several forms of public recognition for their outstanding contributions to their profession, including:
  • A specially-designed certificate honoring the accomplishment
  • The right to use the distinctive "*D®" as an extension of their certification designations (CSCS,*D and NSCA-CPT,*D)
  • Recognition in NSCA and NSCA Certification printed materials
  • Listing in the Recertified with Distinction Honor Roll
  • Special notation on conference name badges

The Recertified with Distinction program benefits the NSCA, the NSCA Certification and the strength and conditioning and personal training professions by:

  • Creating additional interest and participation in NSCA and NSCA Certification programs and activities
  • Encouraging knowledgeable credential holders to share their expertise with their professional colleagues through various NSCA and NSCA Certification activities such as presenting at NSCA conferences, authoring articles for NSCA publications and performing NSCA and NSCA Certification committee work

Qualifying Requirements
To qualify for being Recertified with Distinction, a certified professional must:
  1. Meet the minimum recertification requirements established by the NSCA Certification for the current recertification period.
  2. Acquire a total of 10.0 CEUs in activities sponsored by the NSCA and/or NSCA Certification . Requirements are not prorated for those certified after January 2006. CEU category maximum rules do not apply.

How to Become Recertified with Distinction

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) certificate holders now have the option to apply for the Recertified with Distinction designation through the NSCA Certification's online CEU reporting system. The NSCA Certification will record many of the CEUs that qualify toward the Recertified with Distinction requirements in the online CEU tracking system. This will allow certificate holders to check their eligibility for becoming Recertified with Distinction and complete the recertification process online. Certified individuals can easily track CEUs earned by attending or presenting at NSCA events, authoring articles for NSCA publications, participating on NSCA or NSCA Certification committees, serving as host for NSCA exams or symposia, completing NSCA CEU Quizzes or Practice Exams and obtaining the second NSCA certification.

Once a certificate holder has accumulated the required number of CEUs to become Recertified with Distinction, the online CEU tracking system will prompt the individual to report his or her CEUs and pay the appropriate fee.

Please click here to view your certification summaries, which define how many CEUs are required, how many CEUs have been recorded and how many CEUs are still needed.

The following steps are for individuals who would prefer to submit their CEUs through the mail:

Step 1
Complete the standard CEU Reporting Form.

Step 2
