Why Choose NSCA Certification

By continuing to expand internationally, the NSCA Certification works to provide for continued competency of strength and conditioning and fitness professionals through the development and administration of valid and reliable examinations.

As today's marketplace becomes increasingly competitive, and employers are looking for the most qualified individuals. How can you prove your extraordinary level of education and expertise? Over time, the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and the NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer credentials have gained a reputation among employers, professors and industry experts around the world as the most respected and preferred fitness-related credentials. Earning the CSCS or NSCA-CPT credential gives you the ability to open doors both professionally and financially.

The NSCA Certification continues to define the industry by establishing itself as a worldwide leader in strength and conditioning and fitness certification by obtaining the nationally and internationally recognized and respected ISO 9001:2000 and NCCA standards of excellence.

ISO 9001:2000 Registration
The NSCA Certification is the first fitness certification organization to become registered to ISO 9001:2000 (International Organization for Standardization) for customer care. The NSCA Certification earned recognition in February 2004 from QMI (Quality Management Institute) for having a quality management system that meets all the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard.

Achieving ISO 9001:2000 registration validates the NSCA Certification's commitment to a quality management system and should provide a sense of confidence among candidates and certificate holders. The NSCA Certification continues to define the industry by establishing itself as a worldwide leader in strength and conditioning and fitness certification by obtaining the nationally and internationally recognized and respected ISO 9001:2000.

NCCA
The NCCA measures the ability of certifying organizations in any industry to accurately discriminate between qualified and unqualified professionals. To earn the recognition of the NCCA, a credentialing body must demonstrate an ability to develop and administer psychometrically sound examinations through a series of criteria.

The CSCS and NSCA-CPT credentials are the only fitness-related certifications that have been nationally accredited for more than ten years through the esteemed National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), based in Washington, D.C. In order to meet criteria set forth by the NCCA, the certification program evolved from a committee to a commission in 1992 with its own officers (Executive Council) and became administratively and financially independent of the NSCA. The NSCA Certification is solely responsible for the CSCS and NSCA-CPT examinations, policies and procedures.
